IEEE recognition for two TRANSNET members
Congratulations to Professor Robert Killey and Dr Lidia Galdino, investigators on the TRANSNET Programme since 2018, who have both recently received professional recognition from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Professor Robert Killey, from UCL’s Optical Networks Group, has been elevated to Fellow of the Institution of Electronic and Electrical Engineers for contributions to digital signal processing for high-speed, nonlinear optical communications systems, effective January 2022.
IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for selected IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation – only 0.1% of members are selected for this elevated membership so truly exceptional recognition indeed – well done, Robert.
Dr Lidia Galdino, also from the Optical Networks Group, has become a Senior Member of IEEE – the highest grade for which IEEE members can apply either through self- or peer-nomination. Senior Membership is held by only eight percent of IEEE's approximately 400,000+ members and reflects members’ extensive experience, professional maturity, and documented achievements of significance within their field of interest.
Well done to Robert and Lidia from all the TRANSNET team!
