Farah Comis is a final year PhD Student supervised by Dr Alfonso Ruocco, researching high-index contrast photonics platforms, such as SiNOI and LNOI. Her work focuses on the design, fabrication and characterization of devices that can enable faster switching speeds and lower energy consumption for use in optical transceivers for future short-reach optical communication links that require low latency, high bandwidth and lower switching energies.
