PhD student bags the Bronze award at Stem for Britain 2019

Kari Clark, final year PhD Student affiliated with the TRANSNET Programme, went up against stiff competition from students across the UK before winning the Bronze award at the Stem for Britain 2019 awards.

Kari’s research poster - on synchronising thousands of computers to within trillionths of a second through optical fibre to maximise the data processing capacity of future “Cloud” Data Centres - was judged by politicians and leading academics against dozens of other scientists’ research in the only national competition of its kind.

The poster presentation and awards were announced at the Houses of Parliament.

Kari is supervised by TRANSNET Programme Co-investigator, Zhixin Liu
